Once upon a time
When I was just a child
I gazed at a glistening sky
And saw a star that smiled
It spoke to me as I watched it glow
Showed me where I had to go
Taught me to be free
So I told that star
All that I ever knew
Whispered at the listening sky
The way that dreamers do
I told it all that I planned to be
Searching for my destiny
Trying to be me
After years of endless dreaming
Now I realise
I will always keep on searching
For one more smile in the sky
Wishes that I wish
Are seldom what they seem
There are no new dreams to buy
There is no perfect dream
But I still have every memory
Of those hills of destiny
That I dared to climb
