Preferred music genre: Country

She wrapped me in her forgiveness.
And I did not deserve a minute of it.
The guilt stuck to mind like chewing gum.
I wanted to down a full bottle of rum.

She wrapped me in her forgiveness.
She did lay my head in her lap and stroked my hair.
My tears flowed like the waters of the Nile.
We stayed in that position most of the night.
She wrapped me in her forgiveness
chorus

I forgive you, she said.
Those were the sweetest words in the English language.
How could she when I had caused her so much anguish.
She is living proof that there are personal angels.
She wrapped me in her forgiveness.

repeat chorus

As much as I wanted to say that I was sorry,
the words would not come, her forgiveness said it all.
At that moment I knew she loved me more than I loved myself.
I was blind before, but now I do see.

repeat chorus

They say that to forgive is divine.
More than ever I have come to know that.
At times we seem to lose our way,
and those who love us tend to cast us away.
But I am a lucky man, and I was taught a lesson.
She wrapped me in her forgiveness,
and that was more than a marvelous blessing.

repeat chorus

Hits me as this song hides a lot of agression yet remorse. Even when your being remorseful you use aggressive behavior to sort the situation, interesting.
