Intro:

1st vrs:
Well he saw her twenty years ago
At their first picture show
He didn`t have the nerve to walk up to Sue
Just stood there nothing he could do

2nd:
The band was playing at the highschool glance
He caught her giving him a glance
So as he walked on over real, real slow
He said, " I`ve been thinking about you since the day of the show

3rd:
She said " Yes" and they danced all night
All he wanted to do was hold her tight
She felt so good, she felt so right
He decided that she had to be his for the rest of his life

Lead:

4th:
Well now since twenty years ago
They told him son dont you know
Forget that woman forget the show
Get on with your life it`s time to go

5th:
Glad he didn`t listen to those men
For he would`ve been living a life of sin
They laughed at him for awhile
But he was the one with the big bright smile

6th:
It`s been well over twenty years ago
And their still going to that picture show
They have had their ups and they have had their downs
Now she calls him the clown

7th:
He so wanted to be her loving man
And now she tells him when he can
The truth is he wouldn`t have it any other way
It`s been well over twenty years ago today
