Intro:

1st vrs:
Last Saturday we didn`t have a thing to do
So off to a garage sale down a street or two
There is an old couple there, I knew them well
His name was George and his gal`s name was Nell

2nd:
Those garage doors haven`t been open in fifteen years
All the neighbors suspect there were treasures in there
As the doors open the people began to shout
Spiders left the corners and mice scattered all about

Chrs:
At George and Nell`s garage sale
George and Nell`s garage sale
George and Nell have a garage sale goin on
On they`re street

Lead:

3rd:
Little Billy came a running from two doors down
He found himself a stuffed circus clown
His Mother opened up a box in the back
And she smiled as she held an old antique spice rack

4th:
Officer Joe came directly from the donut shop
A burst of laughter came from a rare spinning top
Red haired Betty who just lives down the street
Gazed upon a clock built in nineteen thirty three

Chrs:

5th:
So if there is nothing to do on weekend afternoons
Look around in the paper for a garage sale or two
You might find people just like George and Nell
Always with a smile and treating you real swell

Douglas and shannon
this was really really good, you got the feel of a yard sale conveyed, there is a lot of character description, for instance "little billy" draws a more recognisable picture than say "little simon", or "little adam" so i think that all in all this song draws the reader or listener in and sets up some nice images in their mind, which is a sign of a very good story teller, well done douglas and shannon
