I come originally from the Isle of Skye, that`s off the North West coast of Scotland, but settled in New Zealand now. The musical influences of these two countries, apart from many others, help to create many possibilities! The internet helps us to cross all boundaries, where the meeting of like minded songwriters, musicians etc can easily be achieved! |

I`m looking for talented and serious, composers/song-writers for collaboration.
My lyrics cover a range of genres. Ballads, Pop/Rock, Country, Inspirational, World, Blues and beyond, e.g. there`s a Reggae, and a Hip-Hop song in there somewhere.
I`m looking for
songwriters,composers who can sing (or knows someone who can) in order to record the completed demo songs to tape, mp3 or cd. If the quality is high enough, this may be suitable for Demo purposes.
A rough recording may be sufficient, if we agree that the song has real potential. In which case, a demo cd would need to be made, and we agree to share the cost of this.
I`m always open to ideas and suggestions, which lead to the successful completion of a song.
You are always free to make suggestions where the lyrics are concerned, right from the beginning.
I`ve changed words, verse/chorus, and sequences in the past to help complete songs. I often have ideas/suggestions for the melody as well.
I`m enthusiastic and committed to what I`m doing, which is why I need someone who is equally committed, and at least professional in attitude.
You decide if you want to work on any particular lyrics, or not.
Assuming we decide to go ahead, you compose a melody, complete the song and send me a copy.Tape or mp3. Obviously we collaborate/confer when necessary during the process.
If you or I feel it`s not quite right, we can work together to see what can be done, until we`re both happy with the end result. A song we both believe is commercially viable.
If either, or both of us feel that a song isn`t working, or don`t wish to take it any further at some point that`s O.K. We can agree to disagree! Hopefully this won`t rule out the possibility of trying other songs, unless we find our styles/ideas simply don`t mix.
To me, collaboration means being willing to give and receive positive criticism, and of course enjoy the process. Plus a 50/50 share of costs and profits, although this like other factors may vary according to our individual circumstances.
A Partnership Agreement Form would be completed, to help protect any finished songs.The International Songwriters Association, of which I`m a member, has a simple form we could use for this purpose. Any completed song/demo would need to be copyrighted at that time. I certainly copyright all my lyrics.
So if you`re serious about collaborating, let me know please what your ideas are, your musical influences and preferences. What musical instrument/s you play and any recording equipment or facilities you may use. Plus whatever else you want to say!
I think it would be best starting on a one song, one-off basis to begin with, to see how we go?
This will let us see if we`re on the right track, or indeed the same track, which would probably help! Yes, I do have a sense of humour too.
I wouldn`t want to waste your time or mine, if either of us felt the need to discontinue, at any time. The reasons don`t matter as long as we let each other know.
My music interests are wide and varied, from musicals/stage shows, classical, instrumental, & many artists & bands past & present. There are no real boundaries. So I`m always open to, and looking for, new ideas.

I also write poetry, which I`ll post from time to time. Also interested in the idea of having spoken poetry with music.
Combining poetry with art/graphics also appeals to me, so I`m looking for anyone working in those mediums who may be interested in this.
